St Edmund's Independent School
St Edmund’s Independent School in Hindhead commissioned us to design and construct two purpose-built facilities to support the day-to-day running of the school — a new Estates Office with Security Sentry Pod, and an Exam Hub providing secure, flexible space for examinations. Each building was designed to complement the school’s character while offering modern functionality and year-round comfort.
The Estates Office and Sentry Pod were built using ground screw foundations and timber frame construction, providing a fast, clean installation with minimal disruption to the school site. The building features a pitched roof finished in cedar shingles, giving a traditional, high-quality appearance in keeping with its surroundings. Inside, the space includes a toilet, kitchenette, and break area, providing the estates and security teams with a comfortable and practical workspace. Measuring 12m x 3m, the structure delivers excellent use of space while maintaining a refined architectural presence.
The Exam Hub, measuring 7m x 5m, was constructed as an extension to an existing building. The internal layout was divided into six small exam rooms, including a secure room for exam papers and an invigilator’s office. Built with the same high-performance materials and precision craftsmanship as our other education projects, the Exam Hub provides a quiet, controlled environment for examinations while blending seamlessly with the existing school infrastructure.
Wonersh & Shamley Green School
Wonersh & Shamley Green C of E Primary School approached us to create a dedicated outdoor learning space that would blend naturally into its woodland surroundings while providing a durable, year-round environment for pupils. The result was the Forest Lodge — a 7m x 5.5m timber building designed to support outdoor education and small group learning.
The project began with the careful removal of selected trees to prepare the site, followed by the installation of ground screw foundations, allowing a fast, clean build with no need for concrete. We then fitted composite insulated floor panels and a timber frame structure, finished with a composite insulated metal roof to maintain a consistent internal temperature throughout the seasons. The exterior was completed in Thermowood cladding, chosen for its natural appearance and long-term durability, alongside the construction of a decking area and access ramp to ensure full accessibility.
Inside, the Forest Lodge was lined with light grey melamine boards – a bright, modern finish that is impact-resistant and easy to clean, ideal for a busy school environment. Our team also installed the electric mains supply, data cabling, and fire cabling from the main school to the new building, ensuring full integration with existing systems. The entire project was completed in just four weeks, with no planning permission required, providing the school with a high-quality, fully functional learning space ready for immediate use.
